Write That Article: Writing the first article can sometimes be a little frustrating. None of us feel that we have what it takes to be an article writer. But we are wrong. We all do have what it takes, we just don't know it yet. First of all, we have no idea where to start or what to do if and when we write something. Of course we all start at the beginning. That seems to be the best place.
It may help to sit down and process in you mind a few thoughts. Think about what you have an interest in and then jot down a few notes. Think about several subjects you know a little about and make notes on each subject. Most people when they first start to write experience what is called writers block. They stare at the page or computer and just can't seem to get started. That is the reason I said to write down a few notes. It provides you with a starting point, a beginning. Don't try to think up something that you think a reader might like to know. That doesn't work. It is your article, not the readers. The reader wants to know what YOU found interesting. It is what they did a search for. They already know they have an interest in it or they would not have done a search for it. After you have a list of 5 or 6 different subjects figure out which one has the most interest to you and start writing your thoughts about it. Before starting this page I gave a little thought to what I find interesting to me and I discovered that I could write a very good article on the subject of building guitars. I found that I could even produce a good web site on the subject. I may even do that some day. I may write that article, but not today. Guitars hold an interest for me and I know there are people who would like to have the information. I know because that is how I learned to build guitars. When I did my search there were hundreds, even thousands of site results for the subject of building guitars. People somewhere are interested in what you are interested in. Give it to them.
Give them a brief article about the subject. Tomorrow or next week you can write another article on the same subject with a little more information. Each time you write another article you can build on the interest of the reader. While you are writing pay attention to your own thoughts. As I write I sometimes get an idea for a different article. I jot down a quick note about the thought and later I can begin a new article about a different subject. Give it a try, its not that hard. Once you try I'm sure you will find that it gets easier each time and before long you will be writing articles like a pro. (even gooder than me) Yes, I misspelled it on purpose.
