Scams and fakes expose`
As the internet grows from day to day we all run the chance of being scammed. Each day there is another new idea that pops into the head of some scoundrel looking for a way to separate an honest person from their money.
They spend more time figuring out to scam someone than it would take to go to work and earn an honest living. However, the scams are always going to be there. There is not much chance of us completely ridding the world of rip-offs.
The best we can do is be aware of what is going on. We need to be alert to the new possibilities of being scammed. We need to have some way of keeping up with what is going to be hitting the online community next.
We cannot predict what will come in the future no more than we can travel to the past. But we can be informed when new scams hit the internet. We can be alert to what lurks in the darkness of the online experience.
There are many programs and plans on the internet market today designed to help us maintain a safe and secure online connection but even those are sometimes questionable.
Which security programs are real and which are scams? Scammers are even bold enough to compromise security protection. And they do it with such detail that we believe they are all real.
Not long ago I had such an encounter myself. I had a message pop up on my screen that stated that my system had been compromised and was infected. It also said to remove the infection just click here. I foolishly threw caution to the wind and clicked.
The result was a fictitious scan revealing over 700 infected, corrupt or missing items and it should be corrected immediately for fear of loosing all data. It only wanted $40.00 for the program to remove the infections.
Of course, it was a scam trying to force me into sending money to buy what was probably another scam. It finally sunk into my thick skull that I was being scammed and I managed to find the right removal tool and the virus was removed.
However, it was not an easy fix and it could have cost me money for nothing.
The point is, it happened to me, on several occasions, and it can happen to you or your neighbor or their neighbor. Once started a virus can spread across the entire country in record time.
It is the duty of all to drive scams and viruses out of business. If you have been scammed let the rest of the online community know about and how to fix it.
It is the reports of others that help beat some of the scams. If you hear of or know of or have had scams send a comment so we can alert others before it gets them too.
