The Fine Print Is Full Of Secrets:
Any time you show an interest in a money program you will find tons of information emails in your inbox. Information that will give you little pieces of knowledge linking to an award winning program. Each little piece is carefully worded and written to work on your desire to succeed in the financial department. They are worded to make you think wealth is within your grasp. True riches are just around the corner. The wealth is usually just around the corner for the person who sent the email. That email was sent for the soul purpose of filling their bank account with your cash. The people sending those emails know that it is a desire of yours to provide for your family the finer things of life. You are shown photos of magnificent and manicured homes with spectacular cars in the driveway, maybe even an airplane or some luxury travel. Along with the photos is always a message that says "you can do it". Something that says you can be rich in no time at all and to find out how just send your name and email address for a FREE entry to a winning program. There it is, that something for free thing. But that free is just to get you to open the door to the next come on. The next page where money is to be exchanged. Thats the yellow brick road you are being led down. It may say free trial which looks and sounds good but you are also asked for a credit card number. If it is free or a free trial why the need for a credit card number? I'll tell you why. That free trial or free whatever is going to have a processing fee attached to it. You are told that nothing can happen without some kind of processing fee or handling cost. Whatever they name it, it is going to be there. That fee may be only $1 dollar but it is enough to require a card number. I have even seen them that only ask for a penny. Again, it is just a way to get the credit card number. A single little dollar isn't enough to be a threat and neither is a lousy little penny but it is what is in the terms and conditions that can hurt you. To most people those terms and conditions are filled with boring mumbo jumbo. They are often ignored or barely skimmed through. Hidden in the terms and conditions is the rest of the story. That free trial that cost you a dollar has a few strings attached. You will find that the $1 dollar was just a way to get the credit card number. The fine print clearly says that if you fail to cancel the free trial membership within a set amount of days you agree to pay an ongoing charge ranging between $25 dollars to $100. dollars per month for membership.
Just remember, any time you see the word free somebody wants something. They would not offer anything free without some reason. That reason may be only to get your attention about something of value to you. Like this website, it is filled with information that anyone could use to better themselves and there is not a charge of any kind for any of the information in it. There are places in this site where you can spend money but that is your choice. It is not a requirement of any kind and I even warn against unwise spending. But many times the free information is for more, much more. And it could cost you dearly. Be sure to read the fine print before you give away money. |
