Website editors

Oh, you're back. Sorry, I dozed off for a second.

Ok, now you have some sort of a plan about your web page. And you have written some content to put on the page. Great, we're off to a good start.

Now, I had my information written in my word processor and needed a way to move it to the web.

In my case it was very easy. All I had to do was copy everything I had written and paste it into my Microsoft Frontpage editor. From there it was a matter of one button and off it went to cyberspace.

But before I could send it to the Internet I had a few more things to locate. I needed a Domain Name and I also need a Host to publish it to.

We'll talk about Hosts and Domain Names on another page.

If you don't already have a web publishing editor then that is where we will need to start. There are many publishers to look at but some are pretty expensive.

A web editor changes the written word into "html Code" which tells the computer what to do with it. To better understand html visit The Site Wizard  It is a site filled with information for the web builder and best of all, its all FREE.

There are also a lot of free editors, some of which do a good job but have other discrepancies. Some of the free ones limit you on space while others plaster your site with aggravating banner ads and annoying pop ups.

All the free editors want or need something in exchange for their service. Free is not totally free.

Internet Explorer also has a web publishing wizard that is included with your Windows operating system. I have never used it so I can't tell if it is any good or not, but I'm sure it works or it would not have lasted as long as it has.

Many of the web hosts also offer a publishing editor for use by members. Some are free and again, some charge for the service.

However, most of those those that charge don't charge much. One such host is www.websitepalace.com  This is the host I use for the website you are at right now. I would suggest that you at least check it out.

Think about what your Domain Name is supposed to do. Choose one that will work for you, not against you.

There are many free web hosts. And some of them even offer to help you design your pages. But if you are going to attract the attention of the search engines it is far better to use a paid host.
