Info No Scams

Ok, We have touched on a few
of the components of a website but there is a lot more to touch on. AS I
stated in a previous page, everyone has a past that is filled with
knowledge.
Most of the people
don't give much thought to how much they really do know. A logger works in
the forests and thinks he knows nothing but how to fall a tree. A lot of
people only know that a tree grows tall and it is usually green.
The logger knows
what kind of tree it is and can tell you about how old it is. He also
knows how to fall that tree in the exact spot he wants it and how to cut
it so that it does go to that spot.
He could write a
book on what he knows about trees and logging them.
I love a good
fried Halibut steak dinner, but I know nothing about fish. A fisherman
could tell me the difference between the Halibut and a Guppy. The best
time of year to catch them, how far out they would be and how deep.
He could write a
book on what he knows about fish and catching them.

What I'm saying is
that everybody is completely stupid about some things and are absolute
genius's about other things. If you think you have nothing to write about,
think again.
You have a history
of some kind of knowledge. That knowledge could be the subject of your own
website. Write what you know, write what you enjoy.
So, start writing.
Put that knowledge to use. Contrary to popular belief, you don't have to
have a Doctorate or a PHD to write something. You just have to have the
belief that you can and the desire to do it.
A writer friend of
mine once told me that I would never know whether I could write or not if
I didn't try. As I have always told my kids, the only thing you cannot do
is that which you choose not to try.
Alright, lets
create a product. Write a guide to what you know. An information page on a
subject you know a lot about. Someone is waiting for it so get busy.
Write your manual
or instruction booklet in simple words. Don't try to show off your
vocabulary skills and understanding. Most of the people who look for your
site info are not collage grads, they are people just like you.
When you write
your subject matter write it like you were standing in front of your
friend telling him or her what you know. Write it like you were talking to
an old friend.
Throw in some
humor and maybe an occasional short joke. You want the people to get
to know you and become your friend. If they think of you as a friend they
are more willing to listen and to buy what you have for them.

Like I said
before, when you write throw in a little redneck English now and then. It
will show that you are human. Be sure to let them know that you know what
you are talking about.
Remember, don't
use a lot of big words. If you use the big words people tend to think you
are above them and they begin to lose their trust in you. If they don't trust
you they won't be interested in what you have to offer.
Use short
paragraphs, two or maybe three sentences will do. Leave a little empty
space. It will break things up and make it easier to read.
Remember, write
what you know. Use small words and a little redneck English. Short
paragraphs and leave some space. You can add a picture once in a while to
inject a little humor but don't overdo it.
Win their
confidence and friendship.
I don't know about
you, but I like to take my time writing the content for my pages. I
usually start by using Microsoft Word. I type what I want to say and when
I am ready I simply copy it to the office clipboard and then transfer it
to my web program.
Ok, when you are
ready we can move on to the next
page.
