All the information in these pages is free for your use but it does get a little stressful. A cup of coffee now and then would be helpful. If you found the information useful feel free to buy me a cup. |
Just like the ARMY, hurry up and wait: After you have built your web pages and acquired a domain name and host you can't expect any quick return. You are just getting started. Things in cyber land don't just happen overnight. It all takes time. You have taken all the right steps. You have the website and you have joined a few forums and maybe written an article or two with your site address included. You should also have inserted a signature line in all your emails so people can find your site. You have probably already told all your friends and relatives what your new site address is. That is all good, but you can't afford to stop there. Keep working on the site. Keep it growing. Remember, the more pages you have the better google and the other search engines like it. One of the biggest mistakes people make when working on a website for the first time is just that, TIME. They expect the site to attract large amounts of traffic almost immediately. That is just not going to happen. It all takes TIME. If they see no huge activity on that site it usually gets placed on the back burner for a while and a new site may be in the making. They think the first site was not good and a better site will do better. They may build several sites before they figure out the problem. The first site was probably the best site. It just needed a little more attention and time to grow. The search engines take time to evaluate your site and determine if it is growing into something that will benefit the viewing public. If anyone tells you that you can build a website and in a month or two you can leave your day job don't you believe it. It usually takes a year and sometimes more before a new website receives enough traffic to generate any kind of income. If you can't give it at least a year then you are wasting your time. I don't mean to discourage you because there is money waiting for you on your website but it will take time to work out the bugs and insert different little things to help it produce the results you want. During that waiting period don't just sit around doing nothing. Work on expanding things. As I said earlier, google likes large sites. The bigger the better. Try to build a new page each day. It doesn't matter what the subject of your site is, there is a lot of information to be added. Do a search for similar sites and use some of the knowledge found in them to add to your own site. Read some of the articles and find some valuable information pertaining to your site and use that too. Sometimes you can use a complete article as a web page. Just be sure to copy it in its entirety. Giving credit to the author who wrote the information. My first paying website took 17 months for it to generate my first $100 dollars. The second $100 took 4 months and then time was on my side. So, be patient and don't quit. I hate to think of all those who quit just before payday. Soon you will see a small payday and then a larger payday and eventually a payday so shockingly good you can start thinking about what to say to your BOSS. I would be happy to help if there is anything I can do for you. Just send an email.
