Finding the Money: The money is there, you just need to know how and where to find it. If your intent with your website is to create an income then use all the net has to offer. There are literally thousands of businesses that are hoping to find someone just like you to help them sell their product. With so much retail activity taking place online manufacturers are continually looking for ways to have their products viewed by the online public. They need the help of people like you and me and they are willing to pay for it. Brick and mortar stores spend big bucks for conventional advertising. A commercial ad shown on TV at the Super Bowl game cost over 3 million dollars for only 30 seconds. An ad such as that is only seen by a select group of people. Granted, it is a large group, but it is still just one group of possible prospects. The businesses are willing to pay portions of those advertising dollars to the millions of people who work online. They pay a small amount to us to place an ad on our websites in hopes of attracting buyers. Each time a potential buyer clicks on one of the ads we are paid that small amount. The amount paid to web owners varies from a fraction of a cent to $10 or more dollars. All of these small amounts add up and when the total reaches an agreed amount a check is sent to the web owner. The more you participate the more you earn. If you allow one advertiser to use your one spot on your site you will earn according to that spot. If you place an ad on every page of your site then, of course, you will earn more. Working with Advertisers: The trick is to work with more than one advertiser. Place several ads on each page and see the money begin to accumulate. Businesses work directly with search engines like Google, Yahoo and MSN. They pay the search engine to sponsor their product and get it online in front of the public. The search engines see to it that millions of people come into touch with millions of products. We, the website owners sign up to be partners with the engines and those ads are placed on our web pages. As the viewing public travels through our pages they given the opportunity of clicking on the ads to view any product that has an interest to them. Each time they view such ads a certain portion of the businesses advertising dollar is credited to your account. So, the more willing you are to show the ads, the more money there is credited to your account. It is not only the Search Engines Businesses don't only work with the search engines. They sometimes work directly with the website owner. You can sign up with a program called AdBrite which is set up to find businesses that want to place their ads. The business connect with AdBrite and negotiate a price suitable to you. If you agree the business can have an ad placed on your web pages at whatever spot you choose. When a viewer open the ad for viewing you are given the agreed upon amount of money. The agreed upon amount is usually a very small amount, but small amounts add up to large dollars. As said before, the more ads you run, the more money you earn. Can you begin to see the power you have in your site? Working with all those advertising businesses can earn that extra income. It just takes time to implement. So, simply put, use all the advertisers you can to make your payday enjoyable.
Other Money Avenues There are other avenues of money also. Take a look at affiliate memberships. Most online and many offline businesses are looking for affiliates to help market their stock. The well known Circuit City (which has now gone out of business) was a business that offered an affiliate program. They sold online and offline. For possible customers sent to their business by an affiliate they paid that small amount of money. It worked well as long as they were in business. One can become an affiliate member to places like Overstock.com, E-Bay, Half.com, Amazon, Barns and Noble and many more. Today almost every business has a web address. The affiliate sign up information is usually located at the bottom of the landing page. If you want your site to pay off take a look at everything you find. You don't have to join everything, but it sure doesn't hurt to look. You can also part company with these affiliate programs at any time you want. Go ahead, take a look around. See who wants to give you some of their advertising dollars. I did and I am still looking for more.
