Blogging is fast becoming a very big part of Internet communication. For the majority of people using blogs it is used as a diary or a form of journal. It is used to express ones own personal feelings or thoughts. Some use it as a bitch session or a place to complain in hopes that someone else will join in with similar thoughts or complaints. For a few years I personally never saw any real use for a blog. I thought why do a blog when I have several websites. I didn't have any need to write a journal and I had nothing I wanted to share with the world. What I wanted was to make money not chit chat. I wanted to find a way to make enough money to pay my mortgage. Money to make the car payment. I wanted some extra money for a nice vacation every once in a while. And I was sure that idle conversations or gripes on a blog would not produce any money. Well, I was wrong. Conversation and chatting of bragging is not the only use for the overlooked blog. There is POWER in the blog. The blog has a lot more power than we have given it credit for. The blog is almost as good as a full blown website. All the possibilities are there. However the blog is a whole lot cheaper (or should I say less expensive) than a web site. The search engines like Google, Yahoo and MSN love a well written and well designed website but they are also quite fond of a good quality Blog. Just about everything you can do on a web site you can do on a blog. With a web site you can promote your own product or someone else's product, you can promote yourself or someone else. With the blog you can do the same thing. On the web you can sell, same thing on the blog. You can even add videos to your blog which will enhance the blog and please the reader. If you offer something of value like a free report of a free instruction manual on your blog you can create a terrific list of people wanting what you have or know. I'm sure you have heard the saying "the money is in the list". Well, the blog is a great place to gather names and addresses of people who have already told you by their action that they are open minded and ready for your help. The blog has become so popular that millions of people are using them and searching for different ones all the time. By placing a link to your website you can generate more traffic to your own site. Some blogs are free but there are also some providers who charge for the service and some require you to purchase a domain name and have a host handle the blog.
