Create a Profitable Website What We Need |

So you are ready to build your website. You have given it much thought and are sure about what you want it to be for and now you are ready to go. And of course, you want it to be able to pay for itself and to earn a decent income. A little profit left over for you. Ok, now lets talk about what you will need to make it work the way you want it to. Patience: First and foremost you are going to need patience. A painter will not just grab a brush and slap together a masterpiece painting. A painter will take time and make each brushstroke create more than just a streak of paint. Each stroke of the brush will inject a bit of the artist into the work. The same is true of anything you do that is worthwhile. And you certainly want your website to be worthwhile or you wouldn't build it in the first place. Be patient and make each keystroke count. Take your time and do it right. Just like the painter, you cannot create a profitable website with just a few brushstrokes. It will take you time and patience.
Domain Name: A domain name is what you will call your website. It tells visitors and traffic where to find the information you have. It is like the title of a good book. It is the address to your website. So when you choose your domain name choose it wisely. Give it some thought. Your domain name should tell the people where to find you and why they would want to. Website Host: Once you have decided on a domain name you will need to register it with a website host. There are some website hosts that offer free hosting however, I personally do not recommend them. And why not, you ask? Well, I'll tell you why not. The search engines don't give free hosting much credibility and usually ignore websites hosted by them. We certainly don't want to be overlooked by the search engines. That is where a large percentage of traffic comes from. Most web host offer more than just hosting. Some offer web mail, with automatic notification. Some offer free photo albums and status alerts.
Website Software: You will need some kind of web building software to create the project and publish it to the internet. There are many software programs on the market today to choose from. The one I use here on this site is Microsoft Frontpage. It came bundled with the operation system on my computer at the time of purchase. It has served me well but I understand that it is no longer available. Another very good software is Dreamweaver, which I have purchased but have not yet learned. I guess that is my bit of procrastination. There are more things necessary for building a good website but this information will get you off to great start. Look for more information on the subject of your choice throughout these pages. Publishing: You will also need some way to publish your new site to the internet. Some websdite builders provide for publishing but not all. In some cases you can build the site on one program but publish on another. There are a lot of publisher available. Some are free and some not. I use one of the free web publishers and have had good results. The one I used on this site is Brian Cryer's BCWeb Publishing. There is a link right over there on the left. Give it a try if you need a different publisher. Web Design And Graphics: It is sometimes hard to decide what to do in designing a website and what graphics should be used. Sometimes graphics are not necessary to get the point across but at other times the graphics added to a page grabs the attention of the viewer.
