Very Important |

There is a lot to do in making a webpage. You need to have a plan. Know just what it is that you want to say and discuss. You need to figure out what design you want and which design will attract the most attention. Should you use a lot of graphics or none at all. You need to do a lot of research on the subject of the page and be sure what you write about is correct.
But there is one thing that is probably more important than any. That one item is to back up your work. That is so important I will say it again. Back up your work. I don't care how you do it but for your own peace of mind just do it. And don't do the back up on your own computer. If you just save it to another file on your machine and you get the terrible blue screen of death everything will be gone. Take my word for it, I know for a fact that it can happen. I got that blue screen which is a sign of hard drive destruction. My computer crashed after I had built 17 pages on my very first website. 17 pages lost, never to be seen again. After that the lesson was learned. I always back up after each page I build. I do my back ups by transferring the files to a second computer. I also use a rewritable disc and copy all the information. I cover myself in two ways. (can't hurt to be safe.) Sometimes even a slip of the finger can cause information to disappear. I have also done that. I have accidentally hit a wrong button while typing and found myself with an empty page. So, always back up your work and use caution.
