Making money online is not as easy as putting up a website and waiting for the big bucks to start rolling in. If that is the plan then don't count on retiring any time soon. It is not difficult, but it is not easy either. It is easy to build a site. The hard part is monetizing it. Figuring out where the money is going to come from. There are many ways to monetize. Selling products, selling someone else's product, selling articles and selling information. Even selling someone else's information. Information written by someone else. Which way is the best is the question. Which way will produce the best profit for your efforts. Some produce well while others produce little. And those that produce the small income may be the right choice for your type of site. The thing I and many others have found is that it is not which one but how many. To monetize your site don't just use one of the avenues available. Use as many as you can without making the site look too busy and uninteresting. There are many different opportunities to make your site profitable. AdBrite is a good one. In fact it is currently one of the best alternatives there is to Google's adsense. AdBrite has an assortment of ways to display the ads they offer. I use AdBrite myself. Another one to look at is Infolinks Infolinks claims to be leading the industry with the most relevant in-text advertising links and the highest revenue share - guaranteed. However, they are a relatively new company. They seem to be doing well. I have had them on my pages for some time now.
Clicksor is one of the current leaders of the small publisher Adsense competition. They have payouts up to a market leading 85% and unlike a number of alternatives the cost per click bid values are high enough that you can earn a decent income. They are also, in my experience, much more tolerant than Google. Their terms and conditions suggest that you should only place one copy of their code on a page but as long as you only place a single pop-up or DHTML code on a page they seem happy to let you place many context sensitive ad blocks on a single site.
Target Point is another interesting one. Targetpoint's services are particularly publisher-oriented, you have absolute control over the appearance of your ads. They provide supervision over ad content. The payouts tend to be reasonable but they can be quite choosey regarding which sites are accepted. Google Adsense is also a good money maker. With google adsense you earn money by allowing google to place ads on your pages. Each time a viewer sees an ad of interest and clicks it you are credited with a small portion of the advertisers cost. It is always a small portion but it adds up and when your account credit reaches $100.00 google will send you a check or it can be paid through paypal. It is a good program but like all programs there are disadvantages. The payout is small, you never know how much each click is worth and you lack some of the control. All of the items listed above are there for your use and they are free. Use one or all of them to start generating your wealth.
